When local youth mentor Xylem Lara Dey reached out for help capturing the Youth Ride Against Racism in Nevada City's downtown, we didn't hesitate. The ride, organized by local black middle schoolers Izaiyah and Nature, was their way of standing up to the anonymous man who racially harassed them while riding their bikes on Nevada City's Spring Street.
With event day help of an all-star team of local production talent including Akhi Lavoie, Ahmed Ragab, and drone pilot Paul Marwood, Riparian Studios' Kit Kohler volunteered his time and creative energy to produce a short documentary sharing these two young men's story. The video, shared on Facebook, has been viewed over 18,000 times as of the publishing of this post--a testament to just how inspirational these two young men's story really is. We can't wait to see what these two tackle next.
