As soon as Hot Mess Hot Sauce came to us for help branding their newly-founded company, we knew we couldn't say no. We love hot sauce, and the prospect of working to help establish a unique identity in such a cluttered category really whet the appetite.
Work is still moving along, but we wanted to share our progress on this brand with a quick sample of the brand statement, taglines, and words we've put together. There's more on the way as we develop the logo, packaging, website, and social media branding.
FULL BRAND STATEMENT
Other sauces tend to hold back. You shake and shake and shake and three tiny drops come out. You put those drops in your mouth, experience a mild warming sensation, and think: “I guess this is what hot sauce is supposed to be like.” Or maybe you spent ten minutes creating your own personal shake weight commercial in the middle of the kitchen trying to add some measurable amount of flavor and heat to your meal. Not so with Hot Mess.
Take one taste and you’ll understand why we packed it in a squeeze bottle. This is a sauce you’re gonna want to clench in both hands and pour onto every damn edible item in arm’s length. This is a sauce that’s more art than science. This is food from the gut.
Frankly, you’re going to want to make a Hot Mess of all your meals. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
